Getting Acquainted with Second Life

I created my avatar, Tinnuviell, last night and went through the Welcome Island, but I got to play around with Second Life more today with Dan in the MATRF, so here's some shots of our adventures!
We flew over the Base Camp!

 I sat among some foxes...
I rode a zebra!
Dan was jealous that I found the hippo before him.
And that I got to the elephant first... but there was plenty of room for both of us!
Whew! With all that excitement, I'm tuckered out. Time for a nap!

I think my avatar still looks a little wonky, but I like her. As for my overall first impression of Second Life, I was very frustrated and confused last night. The Welcome Island didn't really seem to explain a lot. I couldn't figure out how to go to places or find people or change what I looked like (not really... I could directly search for something like "Clemson" and teleport there...)
When I came to the MATRF today, Dan helped me figure all this out (helping is code for us yelling at our computers and asking Dan to come fix it.) So today's time in Second Life went much better than yesterday, after we started getting the hang of things. There's still hope!
